Pep Guardiola got off to a flying start in his first game as Manchester City boss with a late victory against David Moyes’s Sunderland.

Manchester City started the game on the frontfoot and were rewarded early on with Sergio Aguero scoring from a spotkick.

The home team missed numerous chances to put the game to bed in the first half.

Jermain Defoe equalized in the 71st minute for Sunderland, and just when the away side thought they had secured a great point, an own-goal from substitute Paddy McNair stole the victory for Manchester City.
